When you setup your web site with your domain name you can setup "top level" email addresses at that domain name.. For example the website you are looking at is www.chilliwebsites.us. With this domain we might have email addresses for our employees such as jack@chilliwebsites.us or jennifer@chilliwebsites.us.
When your website with Chilli Websites is sent live, we will offer to you to setup up to 5 email addresses at your domain.
There are a two primary options when we setup an email address for you, email forwarding or a "stand alone" email address. Either option will provide you with a "top level" email address (i.e. yourname@yourdomain.com).

The simplest option is to setup an email forward. This will simply redirect any email sent to your new email address (i.e. yourname@yourdomain.com) to an existing email address (i.e. yourname@hotmail.com).
This is beneficial in that no additional setup is required on your end and you can check your new emails as you are used to doing. This option is often used for smaller businesses and/or side businesses where business email is not necessarily used on an everyday basis.
If you opt for an email redirect, you can still use this email address as your primary email address and can set this as your "from" address and your "reply to" address on your existing account. The effect of doing this is that anybody you send email to will see your new email address (yourname@yourdomain.com) as the from address in their email and will see the same address (yourname@yourdomain.com) as the reply to address.
In order to implement this, you must be using an email client software program (i.e. Outlook, Outlook Express, Entourage, etc.) to download your existing email account to your computer.
Instruction on configuring your email software to use a different "reply to" address can be found by clicking here (or search "reply" in the "email" category in our Support section).
The second option is to setup a "stand alone" email address for which you (or your IT consultant) configure an email client software program (i.e. Outlook, Outlook Express, Entourage, etc.) to download your email to your computer.
You can also check a standalone email address using our webmail (i.e. http://webmail.yourdomain.com) when you are away from your primary computer, but you must also download your email on a fairly regular basis as your mail server is limited to 20mb and will fill up in time if you do not regularly download it.
If you opt for a "stand alone" email address, instructions on configuring your email software can be found by clicking here (or search "configure" in the "email" category in our Support section).
